an elegant yet easy cake recipe for holiday entertaining. | Carrie Sellman for TheCakeBlog.com\" width=\"600\" height=\"930\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thecakeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/spiced_plum_cake_2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/thecakeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/spiced_plum_cake_2-387x600.jpg 387w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>SPICED PLUM CAKE WITH WHIPPED YOGURT<\/strong><br \/>\na recipe by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thecakeblog.com\/about\">Carrie Sellman<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>For the Spiced Plum Cake:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup\u00a0unsalted butter, room temperature<br \/>\n3\/4 cup sugar<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cinnamon<br \/>\ndash of nutmeg<br \/>\n1\/2 cup Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt<br \/>\n1\/4 cup honey<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla<br \/>\n3-4 ripe plums, cut into half-inch slices, peels on<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350 degrees. \u00a0Butter and lightly flour one\u00a09&#8243; round pan.<\/li>\n<li>In medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. \u00a0 Set aside.<\/li>\n<li>In small bowl, mix together the yogurt, honey and vanilla. \u00a0Set aside.<\/li>\n<li>In bowl of stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar on medium speed\u00a04 minutes until fluffy.<\/li>\n<li>Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping down sides of bowl as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Gradually add the dry and wet ingredients, alternating, starting and ending with dry ingredients. \u00a0Mix until just combined, being careful not to over mix.<\/li>\n<li>Pour batter into the\u00a09&#8243; round pan and smooth with spatula.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange plum slices in a circle around the edge of the pan, alternating a slice facing up and then down. \u00a0Push down on each slice just enough to keep it upright. \u00a0Make a second circle of slices in the middle to complete.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 40-45 minutes, until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.<\/li>\n<li>Let cool in pan for 5 to 10 minutes, then remove to wire rack to finish cooling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>For the Whipped Yogurt<\/em><\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cup Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt<br \/>\n3\/4 cup heavy whipping cream<br \/>\n2 tablespoons sugar<\/p>\n<p>Combine yogurt, cream and sugar in the bowl of a mixer. \u00a0Beat until mixture thickens and soft peaks form. \u00a0Spoon on top of cake and individual slices when serving. \u00a0Sprinkle with extra cinnamon, if desired.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25475\" src=\"https:\/\/thecakeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/spiced_plum_cake_41.jpg\" alt=\"Spiced Plum Cake with Whipped Yogurt -
