One of the first and most important steps for creating great cakes&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thecakeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/tip_week-2c.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"left\" alt=\"Cake &amp; Baking Tips  |  TheCakeBlog.com\" src=\"https:\/\/thecakeblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/tip_week-2c.jpg\" width=\"546\" height=\"751\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The best cakes start with room temperature ingredients.\u00a0 Plain and simple.\u00a0 Butter, eggs, and liquids should all be at room temperature before you even begin.\u00a0 You will seriously see better results with all of your recipes.<\/p>\n<p>Too often, my window of baking opportunity arrives only to find my ingredients still in the fridge.\u00a0 Cold, cold, cold.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure I can&#8217;t be the only one with this problem.\u00a0 So here are some quick and easy ways to cheat and bring your ingredients to room temperature, asap!<\/p>\n<p><strong>EGGS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place eggs in a bowl and cover with lukewarm water.\u00a0 Do this when you first enter the kitchen.\u00a0 Then get out your other ingredients, pans, etc.\u00a0 Your eggs will be ready when you&#8217;re ready!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BUTTER<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut butter into small cubes.\u00a0 Lay out cubes in a single layer on a plate or board.\u00a0 The room-temp process will happen much faster.<\/li>\n<li>Or, place butter between sheets of wax paper and pound with rolling pin.<\/li>\n<li>Use a cheese grater to cut up your cold butter.\u00a0 This works on frozen butter too!<\/li>\n<li>Still not fast enough for you?\u00a0 Place the entire stick of butter in the microwave for 5 seconds on 50% power.\u00a0 Rotate stick and microwave again.\u00a0 5 second intervals helps ensure that you don&#8217;t end up with a puddle of melted butter.\u00a0 Every microwave is different, but four intervals (for a total of 20 seconds) gives me the perfect consistency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MILK<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microwave on 50% power in 15 second intervals until room temperature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Do you have a favorite way to bring ingredients to room temperature?\u00a0 Share it with us!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we&#8217;re starting a new weekly series!
